PrimeTime used a balanced attack in which 10 different players registered points to take its first Boston Box Lacrosse League crown, defeating the previously unbeaten Voyageurs 13-10 to win the Summer 2014 Championship.
Trailing early in the contest 6-2, PrimeTim fought back to even the score at 6, only to give up two goals in the last 90 seconds of the half, the latter scored by the Voyageurs' Mike Byrne, who was pushed by a defender into the crease and goalie Karl Hoffman just before time expired.
The goal stood, but Hoffman had a tough time standing, yet he insisted on playing it out, and PrimeTime rallied in front of him, tying the game at 9, then taking a lead it would never relinquish on a Jason Wellemeyer goal midway through the final period.
Hoffman made the lead stand up with 20 saves, and PrimeTime peppered league-leading goaltender Joe Evans, whose 35 saves were not enough.
Wellemeyer led PrimeTime with three goals, with Kevin Gould contributing four points on a goal and three assists. Anthony Fitti and Spencer Low had two goals each as eight PrimeTimers notched goals on the night.
Josh Berger led the Voyageurs with four goals, while Garrett Naimie went 3-1 on the night.
For the summer session, Ken Keirstead of the Shamrocks led the league in points with 29 and tied the Voyageurs Brian Krol for the lead in goals with 19. Gould topped the league in assists with 10, while PrimeTime's Kyle Livingstone led the league in loose balls for the second consecutive summer.
